A straight road about 16km long penetrating the Asachino Plateau of Sarufutsu Village. With no guardrails, utility poles, or buildings, you can experience scenery continuing to the horizon.
The Esanuka Line, penetrating the Asachino Plateau of Sarufutsu Village, is a straight road extending about 16km. Although there are two cranks along the way, excluding those, the road stretches straight to the horizon. On both sides of the road, there are no guardrails, utility poles, or buildings, and nothing obstructs the view. There is only one asphalt road and green grasslands spreading around. Even in Hokkaido, roads with such straight scenery without anything are rare, and many motorcycle enthusiasts visit as a sacred place for riders.
While riding, wind blowing up from the grasslands caresses your cheeks, and only the sound of tires kicking the road surface and cutting through the wind echoes. The fresh scent of grass drifts, and you can feel the vastness of the sky and the grandeur of the earth with your whole body. On clear days, the contrast between blue sky and green earth is vivid, and you can experience the sensation of running toward the sky. Sarufutsu Village, where the Esanuka Line is located, is also known as the village boasting Japan's largest scallop landing volume, and it is also recommended to enjoy local seafood along with driving or touring.
