Cape Puyuni Observatory

Cape Puyuni is located on the northern coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula and its name means "place with a hole" in the Ainu language. It is part of the World Heritage site "Shiretoko" and is known as the first landing site for drift ice. It is a scenic spot and a famous place for sunsets, located on the uphill road from Utoro to the Shiretoko Nature Center.
