Since its opening in 1982, the museum has focused on two main pillars: Art of Wood and Art of Northern Hokkaido. As you step into the exhibition rooms, you are welcomed by a serene atmosphere featuring exquisite wood crafts that reflect the history of Asahikawa—one of Japan’s leading furniture-producing regions. The collection also includes creative wood sculptures by domestic and international artists, along with beautifully designed chairs.
