Located just steps from the station, this urban oasis seamlessly blends the natural beauty of the Chubetsu River with meticulously designed landscapes, offering a peaceful escape that feels worlds away from the city center.

As the centerpiece of the "Kitasaito Asahikawa" project, this garden serves as a vital link between the city and the surrounding natural landscapes of Hokkaido. Stretching about 500 meters from east to west on the south side of JR Asahikawa Station, the grounds offer expansive views of the majestic Daisetsuzan mountain range. From spring through autumn, the garden comes alive with a sea of colors. The perennials and ornamental grasses are planted to mimic the intricate color gradients of "Yukara-ori," Asahikawa’s traditional hand-woven textile craft, creating a natural tapestry that shifts with the seasons.

Walking from the "Aune Square" in front of the Garden Center toward the river, you will find a mirror pond that perfectly reflects the vast Hokkaido sky. At dusk, the water turns a deep crimson, creating a scene of breathtaking beauty. As you stroll along paths filled with the refreshing scent of herbs and feel the cool river breeze on your skin, the sounds of flowing water and the surrounding greenery provide a moment of deep relaxation.
