Located in Kyowa Town, called the most beautiful among the many lakes and marshes around Niseko, a mysterious pond adorned with alpine plants.
A boardwalk is maintained from the parking lot to the pond, reachable with about 20 minutes of walking. While walking on the boardwalk, different alpine plants bloom on both sides according to the season, and green moss softly covers the ground. The refreshing air unique to wetlands drifts, and only bird songs and footsteps on the boardwalk quietly echo. Upon arriving at the pond, the mirror-like calm water surface reflects the surrounding sky and forest, and you catch your breath at its fantastic beauty. When the wind blows, the water surface slightly ripples and light sparkles.
From the observation deck, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the horizon of the Sea of Japan and the mountain range of Shakotan, with a magnificent panorama spreading out. From spring to summer, alpine plants bloom one after another, in autumn grass autumn colors dye the pond surroundings golden, and in winter it changes to a snowy landscape. Shinsen-numa Pond, changing its appearance with each season, is a natural landscape representing the Niseko area, possessing silence and beauty as if celestial beings reside there, true to its name.
