Niseko Goshiki Hot Spring

A Hidden Mountain Retreat with Natural Hot Spring Waters

Enjoy free-flowing natural hot spring waters while taking in the magnificent scenery of the Niseko Mountain Range. The spring is known for water that appears to change color with the light and weather, creating an ever-changing bathing experience.

Since opening in 1930, this secluded hot spring has welcomed hikers and travelers from its location between the trailheads of Mt. Niseko Annupuri and Mt. Iwaonupuri. Its name, Goshiki ("Five Colors"), comes from the way the water appears to shift from crystal clear to milky white under different lighting conditions. At an elevation of 750 meters, the fresh mountain air is accompanied by the distinctive scent of sulfur. The facility offers two bathing areas: the Grand Bath and Karamatsu-no-Yu.

Soak in the open-air bath while overlooking the dramatic peaks of the Niseko Mountain Range. The smooth, mineral-rich waters help ease the fatigue of hiking and travel, while each season brings a different landscape—from a serene snow-covered world in winter to colorful alpine flowers in summer. Surrounded by the beauty of Niseko's changing seasons, it is an ideal place to relax and experience the tranquility of the mountains.
