Located at the foot of Cape Konpira, Konpira Shrine has long been revered by the local community as a guardian of maritime safety. Its origins date back to a fisherman who enshrined a sacred Konpira talisman that had washed ashore on the rugged cape. The shrine’s most striking feature is the vivid vermilion torii gate standing amid the waves of the Sea of Japan.
