In the 1970s, Kofuku Station—meaning “happiness”—captured hearts across Japan with the journey from nearby Aikoku (Land of Love). Though the Hiroo Line closed in 1987, the station remains preserved as a railway park, quietly set within Obihiro’s plains.

In 2013, the site was renewed under the concept of “something old, something new,” blending nostalgia with restoration.

Inside the wooden station building, walls are covered with pink tickets and business cards left by visitors worldwide. Each holds a wish, forming a tapestry of hope. On the platform, two orange diesel railcars from the Showa era stand on display. Run your hand along their cool metal surfaces and imagine the journeys they once carried.
