Located near Noboribetsu Onsen, Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe is an aquarium featuring a variety of exhibits centered around its iconic Nixe Castle. Inside the castle's distinctive red-brick walls, visitors are welcomed by an 8-meter-tall tower tank, where colorful tropical fish can be observed in an environment inspired by southern seas.
The Aqua Tunnel leading underground features two large tanks with different water volumes. In the 300-ton cold-water tank, visitors can observe walleye pollock and large sturgeon, while the 620-ton warm-water tank allows visitors to observe sharks and rays swimming overhead.
The aquarium also features a large jellyfish tank illuminated by colorful lighting, as well as the Penguin Parade, where visitors can observe the birds walking by at close range.
