Sairo Observatory

Panoramic view of Lake Toya and Mt. Usu, popular for original Toya Lake Caramel Pudding

A rest house with an observatory on the high ground along the lakeshore opposite the Toya Onsen area, offering panoramic views of Lake Toya, Mt. Usu, and Mt. Showa-shinzan.

From the observatory, you can view the majestic scenery woven by the lake surface of Lake Toya, which changes expression with each season, and the volcanic ridgelines. At the attached shop, the Sairo Observatory's original "Toya Lake Caramel Pudding" is the most popular item. With its sweet caramel flavor and smooth, creamy texture, it captivates visitors. "Kyun-chan's Milk Candy" is known as a limited item only available at Sairo Observatory.

From May to October, the Toya Lake Sky Cruising and cafe operate on the premises, and from January to March, you can enjoy snowmobiling and snow rafting at the "Snow Play Plaza" in the courtyard. With parking for 50 cars and 30 buses, admission is free and open year-round.
