Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park / Kamiyubetsu Tulip Fair
Ride through vast tulip fields and take home your own bulbs
Every spring, around 700,000 tulips of nearly 200 varieties transform Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park into one of Hokkaido’s most spectacular floral destinations.
Held annually from May 1, the Kamiyubetsu Tulip Fair fills nearly 7 hectares of the park’s 12.5-hectare grounds with brilliant colors. From mid to late May, vibrant red, yellow, pink, and purple tulips bloom across the landscape, creating a breathtaking patchwork of flowers.
The park showcases a variety of rare tulips imported from the Netherlands, adding a touch of Dutch charm to the scenery. Gentle spring breezes and the delicate fragrance of blooming flowers make every stroll through the gardens a relaxing experience.
For panoramic views of the colorful fields, visit the Dutch windmill-style observation deck overlooking the park. Visitors can also enjoy an 18-minute ride on the electric sightseeing bus, offering an easy and scenic way to explore the grounds.
One of the fair’s most popular traditions is the tulip bulb digging experience, where visitors can harvest their favorite tulips and take the bulbs home. It is a memorable way to bring a piece of Hokkaido’s spring with you long after your visit ends.
