Centpure is a cultural hub where the acclaimed furniture collection curated by Oda Noritsugu meets photography, design, and the spirit of the Daisetsuzan Mountains.

Located in the heart of Higashikawa and surrounded by the lush nature of the Daisetsuzan range, Centpure consists of two buildings: Centpure I, a beautifully repurposed former elementary school, and Centpure II, a sleek and modern space. Walking through the wooden corridors of the former schoolhouse, you are greeted by the nostalgic scent of timber and soft sunlight streaming through the windows, creating a serene atmosphere that honors its heritage.

The facility houses a permanent exhibition of the ODA Collection, a globally significant archive of furniture curated over many years by its founder. Here, visitors can appreciate the smooth textures and elegant forms of Nordic furniture masterpieces that have captivated design enthusiasts for generations.

At “Forest of Books,” the facility’s dedicated library space, you can lose yourself in a collection of about 75,000 volumes. The children’s corner features floor heating, allowing families to enjoy reading while feeling the gentle warmth of wood underfoot. At the "Minna-no-Shokudo" (Community Dining Hall), the savory aroma of local ingredients fills the air, fostering natural connections between locals, travelers, and international students. Centpure is more than just a facility; it is a special space where culture, people, and moments come together in harmony — offering visitors an authentic glimpse into the creative spirit of Higashikawa.
