A pass at 525 meters elevation located at the boundary between Teshikaga Town and Bihoro Town. From the observation deck, you can view the grand panorama of Lake Kussharo and, when weather conditions align, the early morning sea of clouds.
Bihoro Pass, located at the boundary between Teshikaga Town and Bihoro Town along National Route 243, is a pass where you can view a grand panorama called "heavenly superb view" from an observation deck at 525 meters elevation. Below, blue Lake Kussharo spreads with Nakajima Island floating in the middle, and the lake surface changes expression depending on season and time of day. On clear days, you can view surrounding mountains such as Mt. Io, Mt. Shari, and Mt. Tokachi, and in clear air, mountain ridgelines vividly emerge.
Standing at the observation deck, cool wind caresses your cheeks, and the sound of rustling tree leaves quietly echoes. In early mornings when weather conditions align, a mysterious sea of clouds covering the lake surface appears, creating a fantastic sight with mountain silhouettes floating in the white sea of clouds. Nearby is Roadside Station "Gurutto Panorama Bihoro Pass" with a rest house, where you can enjoy local specialties and light meals. Also, a monument to "Bihoro Pass" sung by Hibari Misora stands, where you can fully enjoy the superb view while thinking of famous Showa-era songs.
