Tokachi Farm White Birch Avenue
A Scenic White Birch Avenue in the Heart of Hokkaido
Indulge in a sensory journey along an elegant avenue of white birch trees. With the gentle rustle of leaves, the fresh scent of grass, and sunlight filtering through the branches, every step offers a peaceful escape that captures the spirit of Hokkaido.
Located at the entrance to the National Livestock Breeding Center Tokachi Farm, this stunning 1.3-kilometer avenue of white-barked trees is designated as one of Otofuke’s “Beautiful Forests.” A popular filming location for movies and TV dramas, the avenue reveals a different beauty in every season: tender greens in spring, a lush canopy in summer, golden hues in autumn, and an ethereal snow-covered landscape in winter. The striking contrast between the ivory-white trunks and deep blue sky creates a breathtaking sense of scale.
As you stroll, listen to the leaves whispering in the breeze and breathe in the crisp scent of the grass. Sunlight reflecting off the white bark creates a sparkling scene that is perfect for photography. For a more immersive experience, head to the observation deck on a hill within the farm. From there, gaze across the emerald pastures toward the majestic peaks of the Hidaka Mountains. Feel the cool breeze on your cheeks and take in the boundless beauty of Hokkaido’s grand landscape.
