Explore Japan's largest wild lily-of-the-valley habitat in Biratori Town. Covering about 15 hectares, this protected woodland habitat opens to visitors for only a brief period each early summer, when countless delicate white blossoms come into bloom.

Nestled in the quiet Memu area of Biratori Town, the Memu Lily of the Valley Colony is the largest wild colony of its kind in Japan. Once threatened with extinction, it was carefully restored to its natural state through 10 years of dedicated conservation and management by the local community. To protect this precious ecosystem, the colony is open to the public only during the peak blooming season in early summer. The sight of countless white flowers blanketing the forest floor is one of Hokkaido's most remarkable seasonal landscapes.

As you stroll along the designated viewing paths, a faint, sweet fragrance drifts through the fresh early-summer air.
