Hokuto Cherry Blossom Corridor
Fantastical illumination of cherry blossom spots in Hokuto City
An annual event connecting cherry blossom spots in Hokuto City, where Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station is located. Enjoy cherry blossom viewing and spring drives.
The most popular "Weeping Cherry Tree at Hokiji Temple" has an estimated age of 300 years and stands 12m tall. About a 5-minute walk from there, the "Cherry Blossom Avenue along Ono River" features approximately 300m of Yoshino cherry trees. During the event, these two locations are beautifully illuminated. Also, though not illuminated, the 800m cherry blossom tunnel from Prefectural Road 96 to the main gate at the "Matsumae Domain Tokirichi Jinya Ruins" is spectacular, and the magnificent "Kiyokawa Thousand Cherry Trees" stretching 1.8km along Prefectural Road 96 from there is also highly praised.
