Since its opening in 1986, Furano Jam Garden has stayed true to a unique "water-free" production method. By simmering ingredients in their own natural juices without adding a single drop of water, they create rich, wholesome jams that are as kind to the body as they are delicious. The shop features 38 varieties, including Hokkaido specialties like Haskap (honeyberry) and rhubarb. Most of these are available for tasting, allowing you to find your perfect flavor. For those looking for a hands-on experience, the "Jam-Making Class" teaches techniques passed down by the famous "Auntie Jam." You can even take home a jar complete with your very own original label.

The grounds are also home to the "Anpanman Shop Furano," a delight for families and fans of the beloved Japanese character. The first floor is packed with a wide range of merchandise, while the second-floor gallery displays precious animation cells and paintings.

After exploring the shops, head up to the Rokugo Observatory, situated at an altitude of 500 meters. This spot offers a majestic view that served as a backdrop for the famous TV drama "Kita no Kuni kara" (From the North Country). Recognized as one of Japan's "100 Best Landscapes," the observatory treats visitors to seasonal floral displays—from vibrant purple lavender in early summer to delicate cosmos in autumn.
