Asahidake

A beautiful and majestic mountain that has been selected as one of "100 Famous Japanese Mountains"

Asahidake, at 2,291 meters above sea level, is the highest peak in Hokkaido and the main peak of the Daisetsuzan mountain range! Due to its high altitude, it has an environment of about 3,000 meters in Honshu, so you can see distinctive plants that are unique to the Tennyogahara wetlands, Sugatami Pond, and more than 40 types of alpine flora that grow around the area. In mid-September, it is one of the earliest places in Japan to see the autumn foliage, and attracts many tourists.
