Satsuraku Milk no Sato is a hands-on facility that introduces the philosophy of Satsuraku Dairy, which has been committed to dairy farming for more than 100 years since its founding in the Meiji era, with a focus on soil cultivation. At the Cow Pavilion, visitors can observe cows in a free-stall barn, try milking a life-size model cow, and learn about the history of Hokkaido dairy farming through panel displays.
At the Milk Pavilion, a short video of about 10 minutes introduces the manufacturing process, followed by a view of the milk production line through glass windows. Visitors can also see the quality-control laboratory and learn about the practices that support milk quality.
After exploring the facility, visitors can stop by the Makiba Pavilion, which features a shop selling factory-direct dairy products and popular soft-serve ice cream, as well as a restaurant and barbecue house. Visiting alongside the neighboring Sapporo Sato-Land offers an opportunity to gain a closer understanding of Hokkaido’s dairy farming and food culture.
