Kushiro Shitsugen Norokko Train
Admire Rare Flora and Fauna While Riding the Rails
The Kushiro Shitsugen Norokko Train provides seasonal service between Kushiro and Kushiro Shitsugen National Park from spring to fall. The train runs on a track located away from busy roadways, offering passengers incredible views of the area as they make their way to Japan’s largest wetland. If you’re lucky, from the train’s windows, you can see local wild animals, such as sika deer, and even designated natural treasures, such as the sadly endangered Steller’s sea eagles and white-tailed eagles.
